Geoff Roper and Nick Weber think they’ve found a solution for those looking to diversify into the beef industry without the need for vast acreage or years of cattle experience

It may be the biggest herd in Europe but it’s certainly not the tallest. Nick Weber and Geoff Roper’s Lowline cattle stand just one metre tall at the hip – 30% shorter than their ancestor, the Aberdeen Angus. A diminutive stature perhaps, but the pair think the beef breed is destined for big things – for smallholders and commercial beef farmers alike.
